Bühler Technologies goes IO-Link

Connective networks play an ever-increasing role in contemporary factory automation. At the upcoming Hannover Fair, Bühler Technologies GmbH, introduces a now complete range of connective sensors for OEM’s and end user. For a more effective condition monitoring, the production program already includes some sensors with IO-link controllers according to IEC 61131-9. Now are these type of controllers available across almost the whole range of sensors and cover relevant operation information such as liquid level, temperature, and pressure as well as filter and moisture monitoring.

Bronkhorst: Upgraded IN-FLOW Mass Flow Meters and Controllers

Bronkhorst High-Tech’s IN-FLOW Mass Flow Meters and Controllers are now available for flow ranges from 0.05-1mln/min up to 200-10000m3n/h Air-equivalent. The IN-FLOW series can now be offered with FM approval for class 1, division 2, as well as for use in category 3, zone 2 hazardous areas. The mass flow meter manufacturer has also announced the availability of a PROFINET fieldbus interface on its industrial mass flow meters and controllers for gases. e flexible architecture of PROFINET with its scope of functions enables innovative, flexible, and cost-saving machine automation.

Pepperl+Fuchs: PROFINET Gateway- Opening the Door to I4.0

The new, Zone 2, Class I/Div. 2 certified remote I/O PROFINET gateway from Pepperl+Fuchs opens the door for Industry 4.0 applications in process industries while simultaneously setting new standards in terms of handling, user-friendliness, and security.

The PROFINET gateway supports HART/HART IP to transmit process variables and additional status information from field devices. At the same time, HART IP can be used to effectively manage assets. What’s more, with its two Ethernet interfaces and integrated MRP (media redundancy protocol), the new PROFINET gateway is ideally suited for setting up high availability ring networks.

Phoenix Contact: PROFINET Device Redundancy

With the release of software version V1.6 of the TPS-1 PROFINET
single-chip device, Phoenix Contact provides the possibility to connect a PROFINET device redundantly with two controllers (Primary and Backup). This new possibility does not require changes in hardware or the application software for existing devices. Only the PROFINET stack V1.6 has to be uploaded to the single-chip. A redundant controller system is then able to use, depending on requirements, the input or output data of
the device.

Procentec: ProfiHub/ProfiSwitch- Multichannel PROFIBUS Repeaters

What started with a request from a colleague from the Support Department, resulted in the development and testing of the Diagnostics slave functionality of PROCENTEC’s ProfiHubs. With this brand-new functionality, PROCENTEC delivers diagnostics of networks with a mixed architecture of different protocols, down to the last device. Dave van Cappelle of PROCENTEC’s R&D team explains: “With this new functionality we can track down and pinpoint occurring errors and events in an industrial network very precisely, which helps in preventing downtime. Also, the data collection from the ComBricks and ProfiHubs can be done quick and easy by using our mobile diagnostics tablet PROCENT

Helmholz: PROFINET Fieldbus Gateways

With the advance of industrial Ethernet systems, the need to link PROFINET networks with traditional fieldbuses or with other PROFINET networks in automated production environments also increases. Flexible and practical solutions are called for here. Helmholz is defining this market trend with a new, strategic gateways portfolio that is being continuously expanded upon.
Four gateway types are currently available: the DP/PN coupler for the connection of PROFIBUS networks to PROFINET networks, the PN/ModbusTCP coupler for PROFINET ModbusTCP links, the PN/CAN gateway for the connection of CAN devices to PROFINET, and the PN/PN coupler for the connection of two autonomous PROFINET networks.
