Indu-Sol: Service Calls in the Age of Industry 4.0

Plug in, measure, done – that’s the way we all would like to determine data communication quality in industrial networks. Nobody likes to spend more time than necessary with acceptance measurements or troubleshooting. But what does it take to achieve this? To answer this question, the VORTEX Report by Indu-Sol provides an insight into the practical side. This annual report summarizes the findings from several hundred service calls during the previous calendar year by the measurement engineers of the technology company based in Thuringia, Germany. For the fourth year in a row, the VORTEX Report presents an image of the current state of industrial networks.

PROCENTEC: Bridge your Diagnostics Gap with the New EtherTAP

You have identified the problem on your network, but wouldn’t you rather know the solution? Procentec’s new EtherTAP monitoring interface is the bridge to the Osiris functionality on our portable Mercury tablet and permanent Atlas module. Both devices run on diagnostics platform Osiris to analyze the information feed from the EtherTAP. This enables our build-in assistant Delphi to come up with a solution to help you to quickly and effectively get your operations running again.

Schildknecht Connects Sensors via PROFIBUS with PLC and Cloud

Today, the market demands direct communication between sensor and control unit. The DATAEAGLE compact 2730 wireless sensor gateway with an integrated Bluetooth low-energy interface closes the gap in previous data communication. In order to guarantee maximum compatibility in existing systems, Schildknecht has also taken into account the connection of analog and digital sensor data. The IO radio distribution box DATAEAGLE X-treme IO 2730 extends every existing analog and digital sensor with a Bluetooth Low Energy interface.

Siemens: Integrated Communications – The Basis of Digitalization

Control-level networking is child’s play with the Simatic OPC UA client of the Simatic S7-1500 controller. Internationally defined interfaces under OPC UA – known as companion specifications – can be easily linked with the variables from the control system and imported via TIA Portal, using the Siemens OPC UA Modeling Editor. The combination of OPC UA and Profinet is already becoming the future-proof foundation for industrial communication, offering users the investment security that they need.

SMC: EX600-W, SI Unit, Wireless

The EX600 serial interface offers a full suite of diagnostics and programmable parameters to meet the most stringent requirements. The EX600 offers excellent flexibility including digital input, digital output, and analog input unit options. With the use of D-sub output blocks, a maximum of 9 remote D-sub manifolds can be attached to one EX600 communication module.

SCHUNK: Intelligent Gripper for Small Components

The intelligent parallel gripper SCHUNK EGI with certified PROFINET-IRT interface was particularly designed for demanding and diverse handling tasks in electronics, pharmaceutical, and laboratory applications. With its individually programmable stroke of up to 57.5 mm per jaw and a flexibly adjustable gripping forces up to 100 N, the robustly designed and sturdy mechatronic gripper can handle an enormous range of workpieces. Due to its integrated intelligence, even components that are flexible or sensitive to deformation or fracture can be handled gently and reliably.
