By the end of 2027, digital components may only be brought onto the market if they meet the requirements of the EU Cyber Resiliance Act (CRA). Within the PROFINET spec, the work is done. But regardless of how protection concepts are structured, security solutions must be economically viable and easy to use.

An adhoc working group has been formed to coordinate an interoperability field test for PROFINET security that will help to identify any potential issues in an early phase –with a focus on the process control industries.
