PI Training Centers (PITCs) are instrumental in providing educational services for PROFINET and PROFIBUS technologies worldwide. They support developers and users in learning more about PROFIBUS and PROFINET and using the technologies effectively. Thanks to formalized learning units, uniform training standards can be established worldwide and the knowledge base of engineers and technicians in important areas of PROFIBUS and PROFINET can be expanded.
A coordinated process for internal review of the training centers and their experts ensures the quality of the training and thus the engineering and development services for PROFIBUS and PROFINET. In addition, all training courses follow certain implementation standards that are monitored and reviewed by the relevant PI committees.
There are 31 PITCs around the globe and PI is please to announce its latest center in Sweden. This newest training center is part of HMS Networks, founded in 1988, and located in Halmstad, Sweden. Recently Dr Hassan Kaghazchi, Chairman RPA Ireland audited HMS Networks in Sweden as part of the certification process to become a PROFIBUS & PROFINET training Center. This audit included PROFIBUS-basic and installer as well as PROFINET basic and installer, and the company was successful in their audit to become a PITC for both technologies. For PROFINET training, an innovative method of introducing jitter, additional traffic, and bit destruction using Raspberry PI5 was demonstrated by Kent Anderson. Use of Altas-2 to pick up on these issues was also shown.
