2025 PI Konferenz Recap

At the beginning of June, it was that time again – over 250 members of our community gathered in Frankfurt, Germany for the biennial PI Konferenz under the motto ‘Compatibility and interoperability for the digital factory – with security, safety, energy and analytics’.

A highlight right at the start of the conference and also a popular topic of conversation in the evening were the four wide-ranging keynote speeches – delivered by practitioners with in-depth experience in the respective topics. One focus here was on the Far East – especially for automation technology. The day was rounded off with a keynote speech by Prof Gunter Dück, whose amusing anecdotes provided food for thought – his core message: ‘don’t fiddle around’!

With over 60 specialist presentations in 5 parallel sessions, there was something for everyone on the second day – in some cases, additional chairs even had to be brought in to accommodate the crowds, for example for the trend topics ‘Security’ and ‘APL / SPE’. In the exhibition area, our microfair invited visitors to see the latest developments from our sponsors live – and to have them explained to them.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our speakers, our sponsors and, of course, everyone involved – without you, an event of this quality would not be possible!

I would be delighted to see many of you again in two years’ time – and would like to invite you now to the PI Konferenz 2027, probably a little earlier in the year, planning is starting now. We will keep you up to date!
