Draw-Wire Encoders with 40 m Length

Turck is expanding its portfolio of linear position sensors with the new DWE draw-wire encoder series. The DWE series offers measuring lengths from 250 mm to 40 m and consists of 148 devices with potentiometric, magnetic or optical measuring for optimum representation of any application. The potentiometric encoders achieve the highest degree of protection to IP69K with the appropriate connection technology. The magnetic and optical encoders can be parameterized and are available with digital interfaces such as IO-Link or PROFINET.

Device Manager Supports PROFINET

Emerson has announced the latest release of its plant asset management software, AMS Device Manager version 15.LTS. This new connectivity-focused version of AMS Device Manager simplifies field device management by leveraging real-time diagnostic and calibration data. New support for PROFINET will allow teams to more easily integrate PROFINET devices that include field device integration (FDI) packages. Teams can configure these devices from the maintenance room rather than having to make changes in the field, and they can view all device configuration parameters on a single screen.

Industrial Ethernet Switch with PROFINET

Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise (ALE) has announced PROFINET protocol support in its latest AOS 8.10R3 software release. This milestone marks a significant step forward in ALE’s IT-OT convergence strategy, reinforcing the company’s commitment to the secure and integrated modernization of industrial networks. With this integration, ALE customers gain native PROFINET support over industrial Ethernet, with no need for external gateways and reduced complexity in managing hybrid (IT and OT) networks.

Stepper Motor Controller with PROFINET

Acromag now offers a stepper motor controller in their BusWorks® NT Series of modules. The new NT2710 module provides six pulse train/logic outputs, six encoder inputs, and four general-purpose digital I/O for motion control applications with stepper motor drivers. A wide variety of commands are supported to precisely control the stepper motor position, speed and direction. Linear, triangular, and trapezoidal S-Curve acceleration/deceleration profiling reduces mechanical stress for smoother movements. PLCs interface with the NT2710 module using PROFINET.
