Promwad, a Germany-based engineering company delivering custom hardware and software solutions for industrial equipment manufacturers, has developed an electromagnetic flow meter with PROFINET connectivity for a South African provider of electrical equipment. The solution enables accurate liquid measurement, contaminant detection, and improved production efficiency in industrial dosing and filling systems. Acting as a PROFINET device, the flow meter provides cyclic real-time data exchange with industrial controllers, transmitting process values, status information, and diagnostic signals directly to the automation system.
New PC Cards for PROFINET with PCI Express Interface
Hilscher has introduced the cifX PCIE90-RE and the cifX LPCIE90-RE, two new PC cards for secure industrial communication. The cards are based on the netX 90 system-on-chip (SoC) and are available in PCI Express and low-profile PCI Express form factors. They target manufacturers of PC-based automation solutions who want to integrate their products into industrial networks securely, with high performance, and with long-term availability. Proteus Industries has announced the launch of the WeldSaver 6 Passport with eVac Coolant Retraction Module, an advanced, fully integrated coolant flow-control and cap-off detection device designed specifically for demanding automotive robotic welding environments. The integrated eVac Coolant Retraction Module actively retracts coolant from the weld-gun cooling circuit during cap changes or cap-off events, minimizing coolant expulsion onto robotic fixtures, cap-changers, and weld guns. Fully integrated hardware and firmware simplify connection to robot controllers, PLCs, and weld systems using PROFINET, eliminating the need for external I/O modules.
