Vibration Analysis with IO-Link
TURCK is expanding its CMVT vibration sensor series with the single-axis CMVT-M8TE for condition monitoring of rotating machinery, such as drives, gearboxes, pumps, centrifuges, or fans. The sensor outputs the raw acceleration data from its MEMS sensing element via the BLOB transfer of the IO-Link specification, rather than internally compressing it to a threshold value. At a sampling rate of up to 64 kHz, it transmits up to 320,000 samples per recording. This allows users to determine whether an imbalance, a misaligned shaft, or incipient bearing damage is causing the vibration. The sensor evaluates vibrations in accordance with DIN ISO 10816-3 and additionally provides a bearing condition rating in four levels according to DIN ISO 13373-3.
Control Cabinet Guard with PROFINET
TURCK is expanding its portfolio of condition monitoring solutions with the IM18-CCM45, a control cabinet guard featuring integrated sensors and direct PROFINET connectivity. Unlike previous solutions, which required discrete individual sensors or complex, Linux-based monitoring systems with additional remote I/O modules, the IM18-CCM45 transmits measured values directly and cyclically to PLCs and IT systems. This saves users the need for additional hardware and engineering effort when connecting to the control system. The device measures temperature, humidity, and the distance to the control cabinet door, and provides the values via PROFINET.
Simplifying I/O Between the Relay and PLC with PROFINET
The PLC-Interface Ethernet gateway from Phoenix Contact streamlines connectivity by combining relays and communications in one modular system. It plugs into a bank of relays, and can then be connected to a PLC via PROFINET. This PROFINET connection allows faster and cleaner integration, while saving space and reducing wiring. This remote relay system supports simple applications with up to 56 I/O channels, including digital and analog inputs and outputs. Its individual channels can be configured to each application’s need for flexibility. PROFINET features include PROFINET IRT and S2 Redundancy.
Integrated Motors with IO-Link
AMCI announced its new IO-Link integrated motor line, combining motor, drive, and intelligent connectivity in a compact, streamlined solution. Designed for modern machine builders, AMCI’s new IO-Link motors bring communication and diagnostics directly to the point of motion. By integrating drive functionality with the motor and utilizing IO-Link connectivity, the new product family helps simplify machine architecture while giving control systems greater access to device information. The new family includes Nema 17, 23 and 34 integrated motors, as well as DC and AC stepper drives and controllers, giving machine-builders the flexibility to choose the right technology for their application, while benefiting from simplified wiring, streamlined commissioning, built-in diagnostics and IO-Link connections.
