For more than 20 years, PI North America has hosted free one-day training events covering the PROFIBUS DP, PROFIBUS PA, PROFINET and IO-Link technologies. Borne out of a decreasing ROI seen from traditional trade-shows in the early 2000’s, the idea was hatched: “Why not take this show on the road?” And thus, the one-day events were instantiated. Every year, more than a thousand people show up to a PI North America one-day training event. Meaning, by the end of 2026, greater than 20,000 attendees have been to one since the program started.
In 2027, free, in-person, one-day training classes for PROFINET and IO-Link will be given across North America throughout the year. They serve to educate and assist in all technical aspects of using the protocols. Popular among:
- End-users
- Distributors
- System integrators
- OEMs
- Device manufacturers
The classes provide attendees with an educational day of learning without commercial content or a sales pitch. However, PROFINET and IO-Link are only the standards –enabled products are needed to automate a factory, machine, or plant. For that, product vendors set up tabletops around the room as a microfair, and attendees appreciate their participation.
