With omlox, companies can effectively streamline their processes. This new standard opens up new opportunities for innovation and efficiency improvements. To make getting started easier, two new guidelines are now available.
Do you know exactly where your incoming materials, intermediate products, load carriers, or finished products are located? For many companies, this is one of the biggest challenges. Location technologies like omlox help to effectively manage these tasks and also open up new consumer- or service-based business models. The standard enables cross-manufacturer integration of various location technologies – for seamless tracking in production and logistics.
Easy Implementation in Practice
PI and the Fraunhofer Institute IOSB-INA in Lemgo have now published two practice-oriented guidelines. “With omlox, the industry has access to an open standard that enables true interoperability between different localization technologies,” explains Harry Fast, head of the omlox test lab at the Fraunhofer Institute. “The guidelines are intended to demonstrate the potential that can be unlocked by using real-time location systems based on omlox – for example, continuous localization from goods receipt through production to shipping. This also serves as a basis for intelligent, AI-based systems.”
The English-language guidelines, entitled “Locating Technologies Reimagined” and “How to Build omlox Products – A Guide to Air Device Integration,” are aimed at different target groups and application scenarios:
- “Locating Technologies Reimagined” provides a practical introduction to the advantages of localization solutions based on the omlox standard. It shows how companies can gain transparency, efficiency, and a sound data basis for AI-supported analyses by using these technologies.
- “How to Build omlox Products” is aimed at technical developers and describes how products can be made omlox-compatible and future-proof.
With their structured presentation, practical use cases, and technical details, the guidelines offer significant added value to both technical professionals and strategic decision-makers. In addition, insights into future developments provide impetus for long-term strategies –particularly in conjunction with intelligent process optimization, robotics, and AI-powered applications.
