PROFINET is widely used in various factory automation applications all over the world, with products from a myriad of vendors. But how is this possible? Read this article to learn more about PI's support of interoperability.
In February, the first PROFINET Plugfest with special focus on High Availability took place in Amberg, Germany; a general Plugfest is planned for June. In North America, another PROFINET Plugfest is being planned to occur in the second half of 2018.
PI continues to support the integration of new technologies, such as TSN, but does not stop PROFINET continuous improvement and development. More on PROFINET IRT controller development...
In Industry 4.0 applications, converged networks add real value, especially IT and OT networks connecting seamlessly. TSN may well be helpful in overcoming hurdles in communication, but IT systems still don’t understand the meaning of individual pieces of data from the machine. Even more is needed.
We are thrilled to welcome our new Taiwan RPA (Regional PI Association), the 25th RPA for PI.
It’s an exciting time to be involved in industrial automation. New solutions are taking shape and stand to make automation networks easier to manage, faster to run, and most importantly, provide value like never before.
This NEW PI white paper explores the differences and similarities of PROFIBUS and PROFINET. The material also includes an overview of technology adoption, migration strategies, and PROFIBUS to PROFINET proxies.
