This month's issue of PROFINEWS focuses on the many learning opportunities available from PROFIBUS & PROFINET International (PI) -many of which you may be familiar, and some you may not. Start with the basics and finish your journey with hands-on training from a certified PI Training Center (PITC). Learn More!
To get the best out of any PROFIBUS or PROFINET project, it is important to have a suitably qualified engineer in your team. Firstly, to help decide which of the systems is most appropriate to your application and secondly, to help in the selection of the best control system, network components, and instrumentation.
Get your skills and knowledge up-to-date. Training programs give you the necessary background and confidence to implement and make use of the most widely used automation technologies. Ultimately, the right training is both a short- and long-term investment to ensure that operations run well without unexpected downtime. Time to boost your PROFIciency!

During the development of PROFINET devices, developers and system testers have extensively used the continuously expanded Automated RT tester (ART tester) from PI. It increases the quality and speed of developing a new product due to its parallel use by the globally accredited PI Test Labs during certification testing.
On June 26th, PI UK and Endress+Hauser hosted a fruitful event in the city of Manchester. The seminar addressed key practical issues arising from the use of digital communications technologies in automated manufacturing and process industry applications.
After obtaining the correct passes, we took the training out of the classroom and into the workplace. Our plan: we were going to attempt to tap into the live network, and then diagnose and rectify the fault, hopefully without triggering a global baggage catastrophe. So... no pressure then.
