New Generation of Remote I/O for Zone 1

The new CPUs and Power Modules in the Remote I/O IS1+ system from R. STAHL are now also available for installation in Zone 1. This means that the extensive range of functions already offered by the Zone 2 version can now also be used in Zone 1. This includes the support of PROFIBUS DP and PROFINET. Also included is the integration into ring topologies with MRP and the support of PROFINET S2 redundancy. Highest flexibility is offered by the use of PROFINET Dynamic Reconfiguration (DR) for changes in run and Shared Device and Module-internal Shared Inputs (MSI).

MPU for Industrial AC Servos and Controllers

Renesas announced their RZ/T2M motor control microprocessor units (MPUs) for applications such as AC servo drives and industrial robots. The RZ/T2M combines fast and highly precise realtime motor control capabilities and the latest industrial Ethernet protocols including PROFINET on a single-chip, while also supporting functional safety operation. Renesas has added support for PROFINET IRT and an Ethernet switch that supports the next-generation Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) standard.

Introducing Class 6 D-style SmartMotor

Moog Animatics has announced the launch of its new Class 6 D-style SmartMotor™ product line. These new models expand the capabilities of the already highly programmable SmartMotor servo system, integrating a motor, battery-less multiturn absolute encoder, amplifier, and controller along with a range of communication options including PROFINET. It offers an extended power range (up to 1 kW) in the same compact package of previous series, provides improved torque density, and increased performance without affecting the overall design of the machine.

INTRANAV Extends the omlox Standard with Chirp

INTRANAV, an Inpixon Company, has extended their offerings with chirp technology in the omlox community, a standard for locating technologies which enables unified access to location data. It now plans to extend the omlox standard with an additional RF location technology in 2023 – the chirp spread spectrum (CSS). Chirp complements the existing and supported technologies in the omlox standard with a best-in-class mix of ranging (500m+), accuracy (within 1-2 meters), and stronger reliability, in optimal deployment conditions.
