New Interlocks with IO-Link Safety
Fortress Safety has announced a significant upgrade to the connectivity capabilities of their popular tGard range of configurable access and control solutions, which is now compatible with IO-Link Safety. This development offers enhanced connectivity, faster integration, and even more versatility in industrial applications, and brings new possibilities for those seeking efficient, cost-effective safety solutions while maintaining the high standards of safety and reliability for which tGard is known.
Compact Servo Motor with IO-Link
The new CTR-060 rotary drive from Cyltronic is a compact and powerful servo motor that can implement precise rotary movements. The CTR-060 rotary drive is an IO-Link servomotor. It integrates a servomotor and the servo controller in one compact device. Real-time setpoints are output via the IO-Link communication interface. Digital control options for simple forward and return movements are possible directly on the device. The Cyltronic IO-Link CTR-060 servomotor offers speeds up to 3800 rpm, torque up to 1 Nm, and a lifespan of up to 30,000 working hours.
Weighing Indicator with PROFINET
METTLER TOLEDO announces the newest in its industry-leading Smart Factory Weighing Indicator – IND360multiACM™. This version empowers multi-cell analog strain gauge scales with individual cell weights allowing advanced condition monitoring and Smart5™ alarming for each sensor – alarms are localized to the exact sensor for fast replacement allowing your system to be back up and running within minutes. IND360multiACM works for analog scales from any manufacturer targeting existing ‘brownfield’ and new analog-based tank and hopper scales to be integrated with an automation system via PROFINET.
6-port TSN Switch with PROFINET
The ADIN6310 from Analog Devices, Inc. is a 6-port Gigabit Ethernet, time sensitive networking (TSN) switch with integrated security designed for industrial Ethernet applications. Each port can be configured to operate at different speeds. This switch has uncommitted media access controller (MAC) interfaces and can be paired with Analog Devices, Inc., physical (PHY) layer devices to form a low power, low latency system. For legacy support, two of the ports have ADI’s proprietary real-time Ethernet multi-protocol switch that will interface to 100Mbit/s PROFINET RT and PROFINET IRT.
New PROFINET Coupler Announced
HMS Networks has launched the Anybus® Communicator™ PROFINET IO-device – PROFINET IO-device. This high-performance gateway offer an easy and secure way to interconnect PROFINET control systems. Featuring new hardware and software, the gateways enable instant data transfer – up to 10 times faster than their predecessors. Users can also exchange significantly more data between the networks as the gateways transfer up to 1,448 bytes to and from connected PLCs. Beyond connectivity, Anybus Communicators also enhance network security by segmenting the network. By only forwarding required data to the intended target and blocking unauthorized traffic, the Anybus Communicators provide an added layer of security.
New Family of Applications Processors
NXP Semiconductors has launched a quad core microprocessor with a TSN real time switch for the first time. The i.MX 94 family is the first from NXP with a 2.5Gbps TSN switch and up to four ARM Cortex-A55 cores capable of running Linux, 2 Cortex-M33 cores and 2 Cortex-M7 cores. The chip is aimed at industrial control, PLCs, telematics, industrial and automotive gateways, and building and energy control. An integrated functional safety island, along with configurable safety partition, to support IEC61508 SIL2 and ISO26262 ASIL-B compliance. The i.MX 94 family supports serial fieldbus protocols such as PROFIBUS and IO-Link, as well as Ethernet-based real-time networking protocols, such as PROFINET.
IO-Link Actuator Reference Design Board
ST Microelectronics has introduced an IO-Link reference design for industrial beacons and alarms, delivered ready-to-use as a fully built board complete with demo protocol stack and application software. The EVLIOL4LSV1 board leverages ST’s L6364Q dual-channel IO-Link transceiver to handle communications and the IPS4260L low-side power switch for driving the indicator lights. The board can be directly connected to signaling systems such as smart tower lights used in factory automation, funnel material alarms for quantity-remaining or urgency-level awareness, and other system warnings.
Absolute Rotary Encoders with PROFINET
The EXO58 and EXM58 are the new series of absolute rotary encoders from Lika Electronic. They integrate energy harvesting technology and offer a PROFINET interface. The EXO series encoders are equipped with high accuracy optical sensing technology while the EXM series encoders mount a robust magnetic sensing circuit. They are designed in a complete selection of mechanical versions: solid shaft versions with 6, 8, 9.52, 10, and 12 mm (0.24”, 0.31”, 3/8”, 0.39”, 0.47”) diameter and servo or clamp flange mounting; and blind hollow shaft versions with 14 and 15 mm (0.55”, 0.59”) diameter. The industrial 58 mm (2.283″) flange enclosure enables IP65 protection.
New PROFINET Remote I/O with IO-Link Master
LAPP has launched remote I/O devices that support PROFINET and IO-Link technologies. With the new products, LAPP enables bidirectional communication to field level. The new portfolio includes the IO-Link masters UNITRONIC® ACCESS MP08 IOL and UNITRONIC® ACCESS SP08 IOL as well as the IO-Link hub UNITRONIC® ACCESS HUB08 IOL with globally standardized IO-Link technology. The PROFINET interface provides direct connection to a PLC and the devices are also available for applications that do not require IO-Link technology.
