IO-Link: Steering Committee Election and New Website
In May 2025, the IO-Link Community gathered in Bad Soden, Germany for this year's Members Assembly. A key event was the regular election of the Steering Committee; of which the complete list of members can be found on the brand new io-link.com website.
Vertical Communication with PROFINET
Initial approaches to converged networks are still not available today. More realistic is a step-by-step approach by adding vertical communication to existing infrastructures. PI supports this IT/OT integration with its Companion Specification series.

New PROFINET Planning Guideline Available
The PROFINET planning guideline has been revised and is now available in German and English languages on the PI website. This design guideline supports planning out PROFINET networks and which aspects to consider.

New PI Training Center for Beijing
As the capital of China, Beijing is not only a city with a long history but also it is a modern and international city with many business opportunities. HMS Networks has is now a PI Training Center there.
Hannover Messe 2025: Impressions & Highlights
Our PI booth was modern and attracted many visitors with our entire technology portfolio, including both familiar and new exhibition models. I’d like to highlight two particular aspects: the annual node numbers and the presentation of our activities.
omlox and FiRa Join Forces for UWB Interoperability
The omlox team from PI and the FiRa Consortium are working together to optimize the use of UWB in hybrid spaces, by way of a joint working group.
