It was 1994 when Endress + Hauser Italia, SAIA Burgess Italia, and Siemens Italia founded what is now known as Consorzio Profibus e Profinet Italia.
“These 25 years are in effect an important milestone for the association that continues to be involved in the promotion of Profibus, Profinet and IO-Link technologies”, said Giorgio Santandrea – third President after Maurizio Ghizzoni and Antonio Augelli.
During the last edition of SPS/IPC/Drives Italia, on behalf of more than 60 members, some companies that belong to Consorzio – Balluff, CSMT Gestione, Elap, Eltra, Genoa Fieldbus Competence Center, Lapp Italia, Murrelektronik, Phoenix Contact, Siemens, Turck Banner, and Wago Elettronica – presented their offer.
This year’s demo, an articulated and intelligent machine, made using the latest robotics, vision, laser marking, cyber-security, motion control and augmented-reality solutions, showed how it is possible to manage a fully robotized laser marking cell using only the PROFINET standard. It was an excellent opportunity, therefore, for the visitors of the fair who were able to deepen their knowledge of the technology, learn about the proposals of the companies, and take part in the prize competition “Vinci il tuo Futuro”, which ended on June 27th.
Without forgetting that in such a special year, the participation of the Consorzio in SPS/IPC/Drives could not fail to yield some surprises. Like any self-respecting birthday, there were celebrations in great style: all the visitors of the fair were invited by some special cartoon characters on Wednesday 29th May at the stand of Consorzio Profibus e Profinet Italia to celebrate the special anniversary and toast together with the current members and the “old glories” of the association.
