From March 15 to 18, 2021, the PROFIBUS User Organization e.V. (PNO), a member of the international umbrella organization PROFIBUS & PROFINET International (PI), will hold its seventh PI Konferenz. It will offer the opportunity to learn about the current status and developments of the PI technologies PROFIBUS, PROFINET, IO-Link, and omlox. The format this time differs from previous conferences: PNO is breaking new ground and holding the 2021 PI Konferez as a virtual event for the first time.
The main theme, “Process Goes Digital,” addresses many innovations and advances within process automation in the age of digitalization and highlights the increasing convergence of IT and OT and the convergence between factory and process automation due to shared technologies. With the current topics of information models, security, TSN, SPE and Ethernet-APL, IO-Link, omlox, and 5G and cloud applications, interested parties and users of PI technologies are addressed. With this knowledge, manufacturers and users can detail their own digitization strategy and derive concrete measures.
Plenary presentations on overarching topics such as “Process automation in the digital transformation,” “Network of the future” or “Information models – automation devices learn to talk” as well as a panel discussion on current challenges, and user requirements for technology developments will round off the first day of the event.
On the following days, applications and technologies for factory and process automation will be presented in parallel sessions. These include topics such as “PROFINET device integration,” “APL/SPE 2-wire Ethernet for all kinds of industry applications”, “NAMUR: Requirements for digitalization,” “PROFINET – The straight way to Process Automation,” “Cloud connectivity & services” or “FDI: Integration technology of the future.” Separate sessions will be dedicated to the topics of IO-Link and omlox.
Registered participants can flexibly select the sessions and lectures relevant to them from the overall program and thus configure an individual and custom-fit program for themselves. In addition to the lecture sessions, the conference offers in-depth workshops by the cooperation partners and a Micro-Fair. For everyone involved in automation and digitalization in industrial production, attending the conference is a “must.”
The conference language is German. Participation is free of charge. Please find detailed information about the program and registration here: www.pi-konferenz.de
