During the development of PROFINET devices, developers and system testers have extensively used the continuously expanded Automated RT tester (ART tester) from PI. It increases the quality and speed of developing a new product due to its parallel use by the globally accredited PI Test Labs during certification testing.
After obtaining the correct passes, we took the training out of the classroom and into the workplace. Our plan: we were going to attempt to tap into the live network, and then diagnose and rectify the fault, hopefully without triggering a global baggage catastrophe. So... no pressure then.
