Get Educated: Certified Training in North America

The PROFINET Certified Network Engineer class (PCNE) is an intensive, hands-on, four and a half day training class conducted by the PROFI Interface Center (PIC), a PI certified Training Center in North America. Over the past 10+ years, the PIC has trained and certified over a thousand engineers on PROFINET and PROFIBUS technology.

This class is intended for PROFINET end users such as control engineers, installers, maintenance, support staff and industrial IT personnel, as well as distributors and sales/application engineers.  It is also valuable for vendors and developers who need a fast track to implementing PROFINET technology, and is considered a prerequisite for to a PROFINET Developer Workshop.

The class teaches all aspects of PROFINET technology. From the basics to design tips, installation, features to protocol details, configuration, diagnostics, and troubleshooting, including hands-on experience for almost all topics. This certified class includes a written multiple choice exam and a practical test. Successful students will receive an official PROFINET Certified Network Engineer Certificate from PI North America and 24 Professional Development (PDH) credit hours, and can be listed on the PI International website as a certified expert.

No specific prerequisites are required for taking the class. We do recommend some automation or networking background as that will help, but this is optional. We also offer several webinars on our website as a recommended preparation for the class.
