With the new iTEMP TMT86, Endress+Hauser has introduced its first PI-certified temperature transmitter with PROFINET over Ethernet-APL and PA Profile 4. The 2-channel temperature head transmitter is suitable for use with resistance thermometers as well as thermocouples. The iTEMP TMT86 has a built-in web server that allows users to operate the instrument from any web browser.
Acromag’s new BusWorks NT series remote I/O modules are now enhanced with PROFINET support. Applications for these I/O modules are remote monitoring and control, factory automation, process instrumentation, predictive maintenance, HVAC/energy management, motion control, and more. These modules were tested at the PROFI Interface Center and received a certificate of conformance to the PROFINETstandards from PI.
Thyracont’s digital Smartline transducers with modern combination sensors measure in the range of rough to high vacuum. The transducers provide necessary parameters to support predictive maintenance via their PROFINET interface. Users of Smartline transducers can check the degree of sensor wear and corrosion, the time of the last adjustment as well as operation hours. Furthermore, the new PROFINET module is MRP capable, delivers data faster, uses less power, and is field updatable.
Sensor intelligence firm SICK has launched its next-generation DT80 distance sensor. Using a time-of-flight measuring technology, the DT80 1D sensor can achieve an accuracy of ±2mm and a resolution of 0.1mm over ranges of up to 80m. The sensor is set up using an icon-supported color display. Four on-sensor LEDs show its status and settings. Alternatively, the DT80 can be configured using IO-Link, which then provides access to additional information.
A new line of servo motors from Applied Motion Products is aimed at motion tasks from 100W to 3kW with a rated torque of up to 11Nm and speeds up to 6,000rpm. A choice of several base models in 40mm through 130mm frame sizes includes a choice of absolute magnetic or absolute optical encoders with a resolution of up to 23-bits, enabling precise position control and smooth motion. Various models support motion control through the PROFINET protocol.
The intelligent PD6 compact drives from Nanotec are now available with PROFINET. They combine motor, controller and encoder in a space-saving package that delivers maximum performance and flexibility. With its 80mm flange and a rated power of 942 W, the PD6-EB is the most powerful brushless DC motor of this product family. The stepper motor version has an 86 mm flange (NEMA 34) and a holding torque of up to 10Nm. In combination with extended features, such as acceleration feed forward and jerk-limited ramps, the field-orientated torque, speed and position control provides optimum dynamic performance and thus cycle time.
