Modular Remote I/O System with PROFINET and IO-Link
The CPX system from Festo, which has existed for 20 years, is now being replaced by the new higher-performance and significantly more flexible system, the CPX-AP-A system. Line, tree and star topologies can be implemented. with an achievable cycle time of 15µs. IO-Link is available in the product portfolio as a subordinate point-to-point sensor/actuator communication technology. A PROFINET interface is available for superordinate communication to a controller.
New AC Inverter Drives with PROFINET
Parker Hannifin has introduced two new ranges of AC inverter drives that meet the latest requirements for the industrial market. Fitting between Parker’s existing AC10 and AC30 series, the AC15 and AC20 provide a rich set of features for a mid-range inverter family without the cost of ‘system drive’ features that are not always required. These include an onboard webserver, SD card slot, ‘Fire Mode’, two independent PID loops and multi-stage sequencing functions. Connectivity is extended to provide PROFINET as standard.
Ethernet APL Terminals with PROFINET for Hazardous Areas
The newly announced ELX6233 from Beckhoff allows direct connection of Ethernet-APL-capable field devices located in the hazardous areas of Zones 0/20 and 1/21. The sensors are supplied in accordance with the SPAA (TS10186) port profile and integrated via PROFINET. The PROFINET controller is located directly in the terminal. The ELX6233 itself is suitable for mounting in Zone 2 hazardous areas.
New Gigabit Ethernet Switch with AVB/TSN and Integrated PHYs
To provide automation manufacturers with a comprehensive networking solution, Microchip Technology has announced the LAN9662 Gigabit Ethernet Switch with four ports, Audio-Video Bridging and Time Sensitive Networking (AVB/TSN), two integrated 10/100/1000BASE-T PHYs and a 600 MHz Arm Cortex-A7 CPU subsystem. The LAN9662 is compliant with key industry standards such as OPC Unified Architecture (OPC/UA) and PROFINET, offering deterministic communication capabilities necessary for industrial networking applications.
New Servo Package with PROFINET
Siemens recently introduced its newest servo offering to the North American manufacturing industry. With the new SINAMICS S200 servo, comprising a SINAMICS S200 drive and SIMOTICS S-1FL2 motor with standard or flexible cable options, Siemens brings a new level of motion control to the stand-alone and networked machine market. This new servo package expands the SINAMICS drive portfolio by offering a variety of application possibilities to the standard servo market. The pulse train version allows a wide range of installed machines to easily integrate additional positioning axis using the onboard positioner. Meanwhile, a dynamic networking capability to motion control i.e., SIMATIC PLC expands its system capabilities in the PROFINET version.
